Tony Peterson, DDS

Dr. Tony L. Peterson graduated from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs in 1982 and subsequently entered the Air Force. Following his Air Force service, he returned to Colorado Springs to attend the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in the Army ROTC program. Upon graduation in 1987, he served as an Army Line Officer, with tours in Alabama, Georgia, California and Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon completion of his Army commitment, Dr. Peterson entered Dental School in Denver graduating in 1996 Magna Cum Laude. Again he chose military service, this time as a Navy Dentist. After completing a 1-year General Practice Residency at Great Lakes Naval Base, Illinois, and a 2-year tour as a SeaBee Dental Officer at Port Hueneme, CA with deployments to Puerto Rico and Okinawa, he entered Oral Surgery training at the University of Texas, Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Peterson served as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, and then as the Head of Surgical Services at the Naval Ambulatory Care Center, Submarine Base, Groton, Ct.

After almost 21 years, Dr. Peterson retired from military service in 2009. His awards include the Bronze Star, Army and Navy Commendation and Achievement medals and many overseas and combat ribbons. He is a Fellow of the American and Colorado Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He thoroughly enjoys treating our community and practicing oral surgery, including wisdom teeth removal, implant placement and providing sedation for his patients. He lives in Colorado Springs, enjoys riding his Harley and is married with two boys….and two dogs.
